General Chairman Pierce responds to UTU regarding BNSF's yard sales/leasing.
Pierce has prepared a response to "set the record straight" concerning UTU's latest attempt to obscure the truth ("How to smoke out a pair of skunks," August 5 on UTU's web site) regarding BNSF's proposed yard sales on portions of its property.

UTU GC Fitzgerald attempts to negotiate for yard engineer position (7-14-05)
The link below is a pdf copy of GC Pierce's latest correspondence with BNSF on an effort by UTU to avoid the sale of certain portions of the Portland yard by eliminating locomotive engineers and allowing ground men working UTU represented assignments to operate conventional locomotives.  The agreement was "developed" in the absence of GC Pierce.  UTU even goes so far as to include that their ground men would receive BLET's arbitrated certification pay while they are doing our work.
